The California Climate Action Registry invites Registry members to nominate individuals and organizations who exemplify leadership in increasing energy efficiency and commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Eligibility:
Individuals, companies, academic institutions, government agencies and non-profit organizations are all eligible for nomination. Eligibility is not limited to Registry members and affiliates. Nominees must demonstrate one or more of the following criteria:
To nominate an organization/individual, please fill out a nomination form and send to the Registry by mail, email or fax. Self-nomination is allowed. Nominations for the 2008 awards must be received by April 9, 2008. Registry members, staff, and board members are all eligible to participate in the nomination process.
Selection Process:
Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of Registry staff and outside members. Award Presentation:
Awards are presented each year at the Registry’s annual conference. This year the awards luncheon will be held May 15, 2008 at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina in San Diego, CA.
Last year’s Award winners included two individuals and one organization: former Assembly member Fran Pavley; and Mary Nichols, then-Commission President of the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power and head of UCLA’s Institute of the Environment; and Austin Energy, nationally recognized for its energy efficiency programs, and ground-breaking climate action plan.
The Climate Action Champion Award was established in 2004 by the California Climate Action Registry, a non-profit public/private partnership that serves as a voluntary greenhouse gas registry. Please see the attached application for more information or visit https://www.caclimateregistry.org/.
